Important Notice on the Standard Operating Procedures for Imaging Equipment

Dear Users,

To ensure the stable operation of the imaging equipment and enhance the overall efficiency of the core facility, we would like to reiterate and introduce new requirements for the use of microscope. The imaging core will be the first to pilot the new rules, which will then be gradually implemented across other sub-cores and instruments:

1. Pre-use Inspection: Before starting the experiment, please carefully check whether all objectives are in normal condition. Ensure that the objectives are free from damage, stains, or other abnormalities. In case of any anomalies, please cease using the equipment immediately, register the issue as stipulated, and promptly notify the equipment manager.

2. Post-use Cleaning: When concluding your session, please strictly follow the correct procedures to clean all objectives, ensuring no stains are left behind and confirming that the objectives are properly positioned.

3. Abnormality Handling and Accountability: If the next user discovers an abnormality with the objectives and the previous user has not registered it or informed the equipment manager, it will be deemed that the previous user has failed to fulfill their supervisory duties. We will impose penalties in accordance with Article 23 of the Imaging Core User Management Regulations: 10 credit points will be deducted, and the instrument will be out of use for a month.

4. Credit Point Management and Examination:

To ensure that all users have a thorough understanding of and strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the core facility, thereby enabling the correct and safe use of the instruments and equipment, the core facility will introduce a qualification exam for access privileges.

l Credit Point Management: Users whose credit points fall below 70 will be automatically downgraded to regular users; regular users whose credit points drop below 60 will be automatically downgraded to unauthorized users, and their Principal Investigators (PIs) will be notified.

l Examination Requirements:

ü Users who violate the rules three times, regardless of their credit points, will be required to retake the qualification exam for the use of the core facility.

ü Users whose permissions are downgraded must pass the qualification exam for the use of the core facility to regain access.
